The Troy COB has partnered with Pleasant Hill and Covington COBs to
provide donations and funds for the tornado relief effort in Dayton. If you
would like to donate goods, this is an updated list:
paper towels, toilet paper, diapers size 5 and 6, liquid laundry
detergent, trash bags, paper plates, plastic forks and spoons, dish
soap, Gatorade cases/ Propel, squeeze bottle jelly, pasta sauce and
boxes of pasta, cereal, Pop Tarts, Hygiene products (no shampoo),
and totes/grocery bags
Please place all donated items in the collection box at the Welcome
Center. The Outreach Team will see that the donations get to
Pleasant Hill. We will be getting weekly updates of needs. New lists
will be at the Welcome Center as they are made available.
The district is also accepting funds for volunteer expenses, fuel and
cleanup supplies. Please mark any offerings for the Church of the
Brethren Disaster Ministries. Checks can be made payable to the Southern
Ohio/Kentucky District Church of the Brethren with Disaster Ministries in
the memo.
The team has been busy planning for other projects. July 28th will be our
dessert auction with proceeds being shared with Hook Elementary School
and funds sent to the district for the purchase of clean-up buckets. Also,
we will be collecting contents of hygiene kits and school kits again this
summer with assembly planned for Sunday afternoon on September 8th.
We realize this is a lot of "collecting" and do not want to overwhelm
anyone. We are attempting to keep our congregation aware of
opportunities for outreach. We are a generous congregation, but we all
have financial limitations. Please prayerfully consider which project or
projects speak to your heart and give as you feel comfortable giving as we
continue to spread the love of our savior. Outreach Chair, Bev Johnston
