Social Distancing Guidelines Practiced
Since the Covid-19 pandemic the Laundry Outreach Program has changed slightly. The safety of those we are serving as well as the safety of our volunteers is our top priority. We are practicing ALL social distancing guidelines. Additionally, we are requiring those that are interested to schedule a time by calling Partners in Hope at 937-335-0448. For each date we can accommodate four, two-hour appointments. We're asking that no children be present, and masks are mandatory and will be provided. Thank you for your continued cooperation during this time.
How it all started
The Laundry Outreach Program is headed by our Outreach Coordinator, Bev Johnston (first pictured on the left), who discovered that there was a need for those in the community who could not afford to do laundry. Bev approached local laundromat owner, Larry Gustin of Sherwood Laundromat in Troy about offering a free laundry service once a month that was funded through church donations and he agreed.
From there, the program took off. Bev, along with the church Outreach Ministry Team and volunteers, began collecting donations at church, which included spare change and laundry supplies. Each month more and more people came out to do their laundry for free. When they come to the laundromat they are greeted with smiles and shown the ropes by church volunteers.
"It is a joy to serve and be the hands and feet of Jesus in the community," says Bev.
The program is currently on its second year and is rapidly growing.

Participate: If you are in need of these services, call Partners in Hope at 937-335-0448 to schedule a time.
Volunteer: We are always in need of volunteers. Contact Us, if you would like to help. You can also sign up at the Welcome Center if you attend church at TroyCOB.
Donate: If you have any extra laundry supplies, we'll take detergent and dryer sheets. You can bring them to the church during Office Hours.
